Once again, Samui Airport and Samui Park Avenue are organising “Samui Jazz Vol 3″ featuring talented Swedish jazz singer Jonathan Fritzen and Thailand’s leading jazz guitarist Changton Kunjara. The free concert will take place at the promenade of the Samui Park Avenue on Sat, Sept 26 from 7:30pm onwards.
Jonathan was born in Stockholm to a Swedish mother and American father. He grew up in a musical family and started playing drums as a young child. He later added piano, bass, guitar, flute and vocals. His formal training is from the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, where he was one of the first students to receive a master’s degree from the jazz department.

At the age of 22 Jonathan had already performed with several major celebrities on national TV and toured with some of the most respected jazz musicians in Sweden.

His chart-hit singles include Love Birds, Temple of Dreams and Midnight Secrets. Love Birds stayed for many weeks on the SmoothJazz.Com chart, sold in over 30 countries, and received stellar reviews in magazines like JazzTimes and various smooth jazz sites.

Changton Kunjara is one of the country’s renowned jazz guitarists, who has performed at a number of national and international jazz events, including Hua Hin Jazz Festival, Jud Pra Kai Concert, MAI Brazilian Joy Concert, Bangkok Jazz Festival and Taiwan’s Taichung Jazz Festival.

Held in cooperation with Amsiam Travel, Hitman Jazz, AIS, KC Resort & Over Water Villas and Samui Paradise Chaweng Beach Resort & Spa, Samui Jazz is a monthly jazz concert series organised to spread awareness of Samui as a music destination. It presents both national and international artists to perform live in harmony with the beautiful environment of Samui throughout the year, and as a warm-up for the grand Samui Jazz Festival event.

For jazz enthusiasts, Bangkok Airways and Fah Thai Holidays offer a special two-night package.
